The Church Council began with Protestant churches, adding Catholics in a couple of decades and Orthodox in the 1990's. Representatives of 62 churches of 13 denominations met July 29, 1919 at Plymouth Congregational Church to form the Seattle Federation of Churches (our predecessor body).
