Action Alert: The Council's Weekly E-Newsletter

On Tuesday of each week we send out an e-mail newsletter, Action Alert, to over 2,000 individuals throughout the Greater Seattle Area.  If you'd like to subscribe to Action Alert, please click here.

If you'd like to post your notice in Action Alert, here are our basic guidelines:

1. Please write in full sentences
2. The topic sentence of the first paragraph should contain (journalism style) the who, what, where, when, and why of the announcement.
3. Please use normal capitalization of all words - we don't use "all caps" as it's considered "shouting" in this format.
4. Please limit your announcement to a maximum of 100 words.
5. Tell us a web address where we can send people to link them to more information or give us an e-mail address for their follow-up. We can track how many people "click" on this link which helps us know how successful our announcement is.
6. To increase readership of your notice, please send us a .jpg format photo or send us a link to a webpage that contains an appropriate photo or graphic. We'll copy it from there into the Action Alert. Please no proprietary graphics unless you have permission.
7. Action Alerts are e-mailed on Tuesday afternoon, generally, so submissions should be no later than Monday night.
8. If the event has an entrance fee, please set aside a small amount to help subsidize Action Alert. We request $40, which is pretty reasonable considering it's e-mailed to nearly 2,000 names each week! If your event is free and fits within our mission of faith-based social justice, we'll run it free of charge.
