Solving Homelessness

The Church Council is deeply involved in finding a solution to the problem of homelessness in our community.  It has been reported that over 8,000 people are without permanent housing in King County.

Here's how the Council is currently engaged in the fight to end homelessness:

The Committee to End Homelessness in King County.  As one of its founding members, the Church Council has worked passionately to find a plan that is just, aggressive, and compassionate.  The new 10-Year Plan to End Homelessness is now complete and is available by clicking here.

Interfaith Task Force on Homelessness.  The Council is a major supporter of this interfaith group that advocates for better housing county-wide.  For more information about ITFH, click here.

Eastside Cares. This group of housing supporters advocates for and supports homeless encampments on the Eastside.  The Council has played a key role in supporting legislation that allows churches to host homeless encampments.
