Break the Silence:

End the Genocide in Darfur, Sudan

Darfur Peace Vigil

Sun., July 10, 7pm

Hamilton Viewpoint Park

1531 California WAY SW

in West Seattle

We are calling on YOU to help generate the political will to end the genocide in Darfur, Sudan. Though nearly 400,000 people have been killed and millions have been displaced, the genocide in Darfur continues with little attention from our media and our politicians. Our goal is to call on our institutions and public officials to honor and give true meaning to the words "never again."

Alas, the world has watched idly by.  After the Holocaust, the world boldly said “never again.”  But Rwanda proved to us that actions speak louder than words.  We have a profound moral obligation to raise up our prophetic voices for the people of Darfur.

People of faith are organizing around the country on the weekend of Friday, July 8th through Sunday, July 10th to pray, bear political witness, and speak truth to power to end the genocide in Darfur.  We will pray for an end to violence and the creation of peace in Darfur and all areas of the world! For more information on the Vigil, contact pbarredo@hrparish.net . For more information on the situation in Darfur go to www.savedarfur.org
